For providers and payers seeking increased profitability in their organizations, the focus continues to be on improved acurracy and timeliness of medical coding/billing and claims adjudication. To gauge the impact of technology on the coding/billing/claims review process, as well as related training efforts, over the summer of 2005, Ingenix coordinated a market study consisting of in-depth interviews with eight industry experts and 30 decision makers in large provider, payer organizations and trade associations.

The results showed that the integration of electronic (especially online) coding, billing and reimbursement (CBR) solutions consistently resulted in reducted costs, increased revenue capture, optimized labor and improved process management. The qualitative research findings are now available as three seperate, segment-focused white papers - each reviewing key findings from interviews with various decision makers and industry experts in provider, payer organizations.
